Upcoming Project

I’m pretty much done updating the blog and have been doing a lot of thinking about some next steps for the blog. One thing that I have been thinking about doing is posting play thrus of some of my games. As I play Arkham Horror: The Card Game, Elder Sign, Mansion of Madness, and Betrayal at House on the Hill, I will post a write up of the game.  There is a pretty good chance that I will be posting spoilers as well. Unless otherwise noted, I will be playing the games solo, with the exception of Betrayal at House on the Hill.

Update for 5/27/17

I’m in the process of updating a bunch of things and addressing some of the errors (Twitter!) on the page. Please bear with me over the next few days while I make some updates to the page, blogroll, menus, etc. I hope to have it done by the end of the week, so I can start another project I’ve been wanting to do!

The New Plan

With the start of the new year, I’m looking for ways to help myself relax after a long day of work and dealing with the kids. To do this, I am going to be writing again. I’m looking at doing one to two posts per week initially to see how things go. The topics of my posts will still center on the intersection of faith and pop culture. I’ll be writing about books, gaming, movies and tv. Join me on my new adventure.

A Major Announcement

After (not so) quietly watching from the sidelines for the last few years, I’ve come to the realization that 90% of people who comment of pop culture and faith are (loudly) blowing hot air out of their ass. The 10% who actually know what they are talking about are not loud enough to combat the drivel coming from the rest. Beginning in January, I am going to throw my voice back into the ongoing conversation. Articles will be posted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with Fridays being a review day. Feel free to join the conversation!

Things are going to be slow around here for the next week as I’m currently on vacation. More than likely, I will resume blogging the middle of next week.

Welcome to Theodyssey!

Welcome to the first post of my new blog, Theodyssey!

This blog is my attempt to look at the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror through a theological lens.

The blog name comes from combining two words theo (God) and odyssey and is a play on words with theodicy. While different in meaning, the words are pronounced the same.

Over the next few days, I’ll be doing some work on the blog…adding a blogroll and such as well as importing some posts from my other blog and tweaking some of the features.

The first posts I have planned are centered around DC‘s Blackest Night storyline.  I might even get around to taking a theological look at the Lantern Oaths. We’ll see where this goes.
