About the Blog:

This blog is about the ongoing conversations between popular culture and Christianity. I look at the intersection of faith and culture through a number of lenses and from a number of perspectives. Topics include books, comic books, gaming (both board games and video games), movies and television. Religious themes and images found in these genres will be explored and commented on usually from a theological (and Lutheran) perspective. This blog is meant to be a conversation. Just because something is posted, doesn’t mean that it’s right. I encourage you to engage the posts and each other.

About the Author:

I am a former American Baptist turned Agnostic turned Lutheran.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC.

I consider myself to be a confessional, evangelical catholic Lutheran, but have not attended a Lutheran church in well over 6 months (long story). As of late, I have been feeling a strong pull toward the Catholic or Orthodox Churches. I have shed most of my fundamentalist beliefs of his days as an American Baptist. I do not believe in inerrancy, a literal six day creation, that Jonah was actually swallowed by a large fish, etc.

I am married to my wonderful wife, McKenzie.  We are the proud parents of Ella and Miles.

I love football and am a huge Steelers fan.  I also have a love of hockey and can be seen supporting the Colorado Avalanche or the Pittsburgh Penguins.
